"I was relatively new to the sphere when I joined the Scyldings Matrix server and almost immediately after joining I saw a call for volunteers. The task was helping to build a website. I had very little experience with frontend development at the time but I was told that I would be able to learn everything I needed while working on the project.

Indeed, I was able to learn everything I needed to complete the project and more. Working on the website was an amazing opportunity where I was able to develop my skills and earn the recognition to become involved in other more interesting projects. From there I've been able to grow my frontend skills with the help of other members of the community, network with amazing individuals who are all contributing in their own ways and even manage a project of my own."

"Having been around since the very beginning of Beowulf, I have contributed a lot of my time over many years to many different projects.

In a fun project for the Scyldings Matrix server I created a complete Sticker system which has been running since late 2021. With Scyldings we do not only manage a community and the communities of others which I have developed tools for but we also host events and I have written a significant portion of the code base used for the sale and management of event tickets and ancillary products.

Because of my large amount of experience contributing to projects, I can say that my technical skills have improved significantly over time."

"When I was relatively new to the community I suggested the idea of designing a new logo for Scyldings. This led to an interesting and challenging design process with a result I am very proud of, where I got to know a lot of great people better, had an excellent networking experience abroad and the motivation to further develop my painting skills.

From there I have moved forward with sourcing and compiling design elements for websites and producing mock-up designs for front-end developers and are currently engaged in new and exiting projects."
