Beowulf Newsletter VII
Beowulf Summer Update
An update on how Beowulf has changed, our current projects and upcoming endeavours, and updates from our friends.
The first piece of news to present is that the Witan has a new MC, Josh Ferme of Lotus Eaters fame. He will be presenting the Witans going forward, including the Witan taking place this August 28th to 30th in Bedfordshire. If you haven't already secured your ticket for this event, then you can purchase one from the Scyldings website to see great speakers such as Harry Robinson, Apostolic Majesty, Aydin Paladin, Millennial Woes, Emil Kirkegaard, Blamblas Britannica, and more!
In the last newsletter, I wrote about taking over the Beowulf Foundation as our founder and former CEO, JGreenriver, had resigned. The reason for this is that he has created another organization, Mythic Global, which has now officially launched! Mythic Global is an organization designed to invest in, advise, and support mythopoetic companies and institutions.
This leads into a longer strategy for Beowulf, in which we have been dedicating our focus to building up our digital infrastructure. It all came together recently with Wylfings, for which we have built a new website on a new e-commerce platform. The site just hosted a major book launch with Like the Roman by Simon Heffer, Baron Blackwater. The release had press coverage from both The Telegraph and The Spectator, which gave the site the largest surge of traffic our systems had yet seen. This was an important test for us, because it gave us a chance to put the new website and our hosting system through real conditions, and we had no significant issues.
All of this was built on a combination of open-source platforms and systems we have developed ourselves. Our ability to deliver digital sovereignty and parallel systems for ourselves, our partners, and our customers has greatly expanded and will continue to expand as we develop this further.
In other news for Wylfings, the collection of books from Major-General Richard Hilton is almost complete. The last of his books, The Indian Mutiny: A Centenary History, will be released before the end of July this year, so keep an eye out for it!
Also, for those of you in England, be sure to check out the Kingsflame Festival! This is a medieval festival being hosted by the Pendragon Foundation at the beginning of July 2027. If you haven't heard of the Pendragon Foundation, it is an organization dedicated to preserving English culture, heritage, and historical buildings. The foundation has been doing good work in organizing volunteers to help repair castles in England, and the festival it is organizing is sure to be wonderful for all who are lucky enough to be able to attend.
